Mommygod

It sounds idolatrous, ridiculous, and even blasphemous.

The "we were only following orders" submission to Hitler's authority that his condemned Nazi henchmen ployed during the Nuremburg Trial to try to self-justify their antisemitic holocaust they inflicted upon jews, is the inane excuse many give to irresponsibly "passing the buck."

Related to that, to non-arrogantly and non-contemptuously question a priest or a pope is not imposing nor expressing disrespectful insubordination against his authority (if he actually has Spirit-ordained.....not merely human-seminary-ordained.....authority), but instead is merely imploring him to provide canonical Scriptural (and thus Divinely-approved) proof for doctrines and practices rather than him simply reverting to falsely-pious bullyboy/ pig-headed recourse to weird humanly-concocted apparitions, hallucinations, traditions, superstitions, or mentally-deviant hangups or obsessions as invalid substantiation for certain religious postulations and behavior.

Not only that, but some unsure-but-defensively-maryolatrous priests have much to be desired and applauded, while criticism and correction towards, against, about and for them must be done with the realization that no one is perfect in every philosophical assessment, being that we all have our own repulsive blind spots and disgusting shortcomings of one sort or another. All sinners-yet-saints must be extremely careful to NOT "throw the baby out with the bathwater."

The boy Jesus would appear to some to have sassed his worried mom, thus superficially setting a supposedly bad example for His flock, though some claim He was exempted by being God:

Luke 2:48 And when they saw Him they were astonished; and his mother said to Him, "Son, why have you treated us so? Hey, your father and I have been looking for you anxiously."

His answer was not:

Luke 15:18 I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before You.....

but rather gave her a multi-purpose answer apparently related to Joseph his devout Jewish dad involved with the local synagogue but even more relating to "His Heavenly Father's business."

When He was older, having begun His post-baptized ministry, Mary (maybe starting to sense that there was something supernaturally special about Jesus her Son) got a seemingly tart rebuke from the Lord relating to her very relationship identity with Jesus when trying to set Him up to make Himself useful and/or boost some egos by either going to buy some wine for the thirsty marriage-feast guests or do some spectacular wine-making sign Himself:

John 2:4 And Jesus said to her, "O woman, what have you to do with Me? My hour has not yet come."

"Woman" - and NOT "mom" nor "mommy" nor "mother?" Her response was quite amiable and acquiescent, compared to a could-have-instead-been huffy and indignant retort: "Don't You realize who You are talking to - ME - your Blessed Mother of God?" And there was no apology from Jesus with a conspicuously-missing: "Sorry, Mom, I should have prayed to you to help Me be more helpful and show-off for the intoxicating-beverage party-goers."

His remarks got even more pseudo-hostile against the biological and ancestral nuclear family:

Matt 10:37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me;

Luke 3:8 Bear fruits that befit repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father'; for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

Matt 12:48 But He replied to the man who told Him, "Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?" (biological "brothers" relating to the previously-virgin Mary?)
49 And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, he said, "Here are My mother and My brothers!
50 For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother, and sister, and mother."

How much would mortal Mary qualify on that one? And the ultimate:

Luke 14:26 "If any one comes to Me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple.

A good and balanced contrast to:

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her,
Col 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them.

and:

Exodus 20:12 "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
Deut 5:16 "'Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you; that your days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
Matt 15:4 For God commanded, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.'
Matt 19:19 Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Mark 7:10 For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die';
Mark 10:19 You know the commandments: 'Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.'"
Luke 18:20 You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother.'"
Eph 6:2 "Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise),

Now to expose somewhat-errant but perhaps weaker-brother and weaker-sister catholic hardheads - the type who, during "mass" church services, engage in forbidden necromancy and hideously talk to Mary by once again mouthing that mindless monotonous mantra up to the sky with a seemingly-benign declaration of: 'Blessed art thou.... (or is it instead: "Thou" with capitalization?)' but then continue on with a noxiously-absurd: "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners..." and so on. Such hide-behind-Mary's-skirt pseudo-Catholics are ashamed to approach the Father Himself directly through His atoning Son, so the diversionary instead try to sneak in while retaining their pet personal and private sins with Mary's good looks and woman-clout favor instead.

The question of Mary's blessedness (and lack of it) are resolved by Scripture itself:

Luke 1:48 for He has regarded the low estate of his handmaiden. For hey, henceforth all generations will call me blessed;

Luke 11:27 As He said this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts that You sucked!"
Luke 11:28 But He said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

I doubt if any other religious denomination other than fake-catholic heretics presume the virgin Mary who birthed Jesus Christ is part of the Triune Godhead or even on par as to ecclesiastical and Church authority with The Twelve (male) Apostles of our Lord.

1Tim 2:12 I allow no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to keep silent.

Along with that, woman-is-the-better-half nutcases presume (not assume) that Mary is "the Mother of God" because they rightly claim that Jesus was and is God Himself, though they also wrongly infer that Mary was and is the birth Mother of the Holy Trinity of Father and Son and Holy Spirit.

Even though Jesus was God incarnate, He temporarily humbled and limited Himself to fragile, time-and-space-confined, Father-and-Spirit-protected human parameters:

Philippians 2:5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
6 who, though He was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in human form He (not she) humbled Himself (not herself) and became obedient to death, even death on a cross.
9 Therefore God has highly exalted Him (not Mary) and bestowed on Him (not Mary) the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus (NOT Mary) every knee should bow (or genuflect/curtsey and/or cross their hearts), in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ (not Mary) is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Moreover, although Mary was not created by the man-child baby Jesus, she was created by the only-"begotten" Son of God Himself, Who was and is one and the same as Jesus Christ, the Lord:

Col 1:16 for in (Him - the Son of God, Jesus Christ) all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or authorities--ALL things (including Mary) were created through Him and for Him. Ultimately, Protestant reformer Martin Luther realized this the more he got into, studied, and both seriously and fortunately contemplated the non-sectarian Scripture verses he indeed should have contemplated.

Mary is better termed "the mother of Jesus" instead of "The Mother of [the Triune Almighty] God" even though Spirit-inspired Elizabeth called her "the mother of my Lord,"

Luke 1:43 And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

.....because Christ's human son-of-man earthly nature came from Creator-made Mary and Creator-God Father, whereas Christ's Divine son-of-God heavenly nature came only from the Holy Spirit with Christ's Heavenly Father.

2Cor 5:16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once regarded Christ from a human point of view, we regard Him thus no longer.

Female-human-worshipping and/or co-equalizing-women-with-men cultic heretics errantly purport that Mary gave Jesus not merely His human nature but also His Divine nature, and thus elevate all female humans beyond even the hierarchy of angels and insinuate that women - if really desperate - do not need men to reproduce the species but can procreate and perpetuate their lifeform kind all by themselves if need be.

To compensate for Eve (the morally-weaker one as Saint Paul reminds us in First Timothy 2:14) causing Adam to sin and thus imposing and consigning sin into humankind from there on, God chose the inferior gender without use of a male human to conceive and birth the Son of God, and apportioned a woman (i.e. Mary at the Tomb) to both see and talk with the risen Christ before any man or men did (like on the road to Emmaus), after terrified [male] Roman soldiers had laid prostrate in catatonic paralysis on resurrection morning.

1Corinthians 11:12 for as woman was made from man, so man is now born of woman. And all things are from God.

But who alone should we worship and adore?

Rev 19:10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God." For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Rev 22:8 I John am he who heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed them to me;
Rev 22:9 but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."

Note who the Bible (not any encyclical of any vicar or pope or priest) states about who we should worship:

Matt 2:2 "Where is He who has been born king of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East, and have come to worship Him (not "her")."

John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father (not "mother") in spirit and truth, for such the Father seeks to worship Him (not "her").
John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him (not "her") must worship in spirit and truth."

Heb 1:6 And again, when He (NOT "she") brings the first-born into the world, He says, "Let all God's angels worship Him (not "her")."

Rev 14:7 and he said with a loud voice, "Fear God and give Him (not "her") glory, for the hour of His (not "her") judgment has come; and worship Him (not "her") who made heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of water."
Rev 19:10 Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus. Worship God." For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Rev 22:3 There shall no more be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and his servants shall worship Him (not "her").....

The catholic cultic allege that Mary was and is a perpetual virgin, yet Scripture records otherwise:

Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the Son of Mary and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon, and are not His sisters here with us?" And they took offense at Him.
Mark 6:3 (KJ21) Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses, and of Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?" And they were offended at Him.

Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to her first-born Son and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.
Luke 2:7 (KJ21) And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

There is NO reason to presume that those sisters were adopted.

Pseudo-catholic heretics misterm Mary as "Mother Church" and the matriarchal "bride of Christ" (smacks of son-with-mother incest) -- thus falsely establishing themselves (as fake-catholic cultic heretics and others who consider themselves similarly misminded) as part of that so-called "Mother Church."

Let us NOT symbolically feminize what should not be symbolized nor feminized. As the statement "a thousand years to the Lord is AS one day" does not mean that 1000 years is 1 day of actual time, so the Lord is not an actual [female] hen but rather LIKE a hen which gathers chicks under her wings and feathers.

Fear of humanity and not fear of God is suspect here, with an injust and compromising misrepresentation of presuming that God would neither bless nor torment anyone forever, especially dear relatives, and instead of sending them directly to pleasant Paradise (like the penitent thief on the cross who called Jesus 'Lord') or tomenting-flames Hades (in the case of the rich man who deprived Lazarus), the dear ones get a purported second chance in mythical "purgatory" to amend their lives, thus violating:

Luke 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.'

2Cor 6:2 For he says, "At the acceptable time I have listened to you, and helped you on the day of salvation." Hey, now (NOT in and during never-never-land "purgatory") is the acceptable time; hey, NOW is the day of salvation.

So should we fear priest, vicars, cardinals, pastors, and popes who do not fear God?

Exodus 18:21 Moreover choose able men from all the people, such as fear God, men who are trustworthy and who hate a bribe; and place such men over the people as rulers of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.

Prov 29:25 The fear of man lays a snare, but he who trusts in the LORD is safe.

Rev 14:7 and he said with a loud voice, "Fear God (not Mary) and give Him (not Mary) glory, for the hour of His (not Mary's) judgment has come; and worship Him (not Mary) who made heaven and earth, the sea and the fountains of water."

Mary idolizers further claim that Mary never did any sin (imputed or her own) whatsoever, and thus was and yet is as perfectly sinless as Christ Jesus Himself, with some going so far as to assert that she thus never died but bodily rose to Heaven (like Christ Jesus). So Mary seems to be excluded from her need for a Redeemer and Savior, although:

Rom 3:23 .....all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Heb 9:27 And just as it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment....

Simply because the death of Mary is not recorded in the Bible does not prove that she never died. The death of her husband Joseph is not recorded in Scripture, but that also does not prove that he (and Melchizedek) never died.

Rev 22:18 I warn every one who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if any one adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book,

Bow-down-and-pray-to-Mary heretics misregard Mary as The Chief Intercessor for us on our behalf to Almighty God. But:

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words.
27 And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
34 who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us?

Heb 7:25 Consequently He is able for all time to save those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.

Nothing is said about Mary being a Divine Intercessor for anyone. The closest one gets to that (although it never does, if one reads the verses carefully) is:

Rom 15:30 I appeal to you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf,

2Cor 1:11 You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us in answer to many prayers.

Philippians 1:19 Yes, and I shall rejoice. For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance,

Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of yourselves, a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you, always remembering you earnestly in his prayers, that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.

1Thess 1:2 We give thanks to God always for you all, constantly mentioning you in our prayers,

Philemon 1:22 At the same time, prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping through your prayers to be granted to you.

1Peter 3:7 Likewise you husbands, live considerately with your wives, bestowing honor on the woman as the weaker gender, since you are joint heirs of the grace of life, in order that your prayers may not be hindered.

Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and with golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints;
Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar with a golden censer; and he was given much incense to mingle with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar before the throne;
Rev 8:4 and the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God.

Now, there are factors closely associated and intertwined with if not adoration of Mary at least great admiration and respect for her, such as the laudable crusade pro-choice-with-free-will Catholics have in choosing and prudently selecting normal childbirth, contrary to murderers viciously and irrationally hell-bent on promoting and committing (rather than "performing") the crime and sin of abortion homicide.

Isaiah 1:15 When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood.

rather than conceiving, birthing, and responsibly rearing more potentially-catholic children to create a political majority:

1Tim 2:15 Yet woman will be saved through bearing children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness, with sobriety.
1Tim 2:15 (KJ21) Notwithstanding, she shall be saved in childbearing if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobermindedness.
1Tim 5:14 (KJV & Wesley) So I would have younger women marry, bear children, manage their households, and give the enemy no cause to revile us.

Love for Mary's virgin sexual purity and anti-fornicative non-promiscuity (in stark opposition to the diabolical abortive genocide facilitated by Planned Parentlessness a.k.a. Planned Promiscuity), plus respect for the female human gender comes into play, rather than engaging in non-domestic abuse and harsh tyranny against the inferior-gender weaker sex by any of the dominant male gender. A titbaby-type comradery with one's childhood mommy in place of an overbearing or deserting father is frequently involved.

Yet, the father and not mother has overruling authority over their daughters, in view of:

Num 30:3 Or when a woman vows a vow to the LORD, and binds herself by a pledge, while within her father's house, in her youth,
4 and her father hears of her vow and of her pledge by which she has bound herself, and says nothing to her; then all her vows shall stand, and every pledge by which she has bound herself shall stand.
5 But if her father expresses disapproval to her on the day that he hears of it, no vow of hers, no pledge by which she has bound herself, shall stand; and the LORD will forgive her, because her father opposed her.
6 And if she is married to a husband, while under her vows or any thoughtless utterance of her lips by which she has bound herself,
7 and her husband hears of it, and says nothing to her on the day that he hears; then her vows shall stand, and her pledges by which she has bound herself shall stand.
8 But if, on the day that her husband comes to hear of it, he expresses disapproval, then he shall make void her vow which was on her, and the thoughtless utterance of her lips, by which she bound herself; and the LORD will forgive her.
12 But if her husband makes them null and void on the day that he hears them, then whatever proceeds out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning her pledge of herself, shall not stand: her husband has made them void, and the LORD will forgive her.
13 Any vow and any binding oath to afflict herself, her husband may establish, or her husband may make void.

What makes this entire situation even more complicated is that some of those fake-catholic cultic heretics sort of compensate for their feminist-sexist fantasy about Mary by allowing only male priests, lectors, and altar boys to serve from the altar area during mass-type church services....a thankful and reliable departure away from and against the women-clergy-in-charge-over-men aberration of many in other purported "christian" denominations including some lutherans, presbyterians, methodists, anglicans, pentacostals, and even baptists.

1Cor 14:33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,
1Cor 14:34 the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says.
1Cor 14:35 If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.
1Cor 14:36 What! Did the word of God originate with you, or are you the only ones it has reached?
1Cor 14:37 If any one thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that what I am writing to you is a command of the Lord.
1Cor 14:38 If any one does not recognize this, he is not recognized.

However, substituting allegiance to Mary as Mother Authority has contributed to lamentable and anti-Scriptural mandatory celibacy against catholic priests who are realistically not honestly called to non-marital singleness and incapable of not engaging in sexual relations with women and so instead covertly molest little girls or women and especially boys.

Lev 21:1 And the LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them that none of them shall defile himself for the dead among his people,
2 except for his nearest of kin, his mother, his father, his son, his daughter, his brother,
3 or his virgin sister (who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may defile himself).
4 He shall not defile himself as a husband among his people and so profane himself.
5 They shall not make tonsures upon their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuttings in their flesh (such as tattoos, pierced rings in their left earlobe, nose, navel, etc.).
6 They shall be holy to their God, and not profane the name of their God; for they offer the offerings by fire to the LORD, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.
7 They shall not marry a harlot or a woman who has been defiled; neither shall they marry a woman divorced from her husband; for the priest is holy to his God.
9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by playing the harlot, profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.
10 "The priest who is chief among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and who has been consecrated to wear the garments, shall not let the hair of his head hang loose, nor rend his clothes;
11 he shall not go in to any dead body, nor defile himself, even for his father or for his mother;
13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.
14 A widow, or one divorced, or a woman who has been defiled, or a harlot, these he shall not marry; but he shall take to wife a virgin of his own people,
15 that he may not profane his children among his people; for I am the LORD who sanctify him."
16 And the LORD said to Moses,
17 "Say to Aaron, None of your descendants throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the bread of his God.
18 For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, a man blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long,
19 or a man who has an injured foot or an injured hand,
20 or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a defect in his sight or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles;

So should Catholic clergy get and stay married, as Peter definitely was married, and Paul at least initially probably was also married?

1Cor 7:9 But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to be aflame with passion.
1Cor 7:36 (RSV) If any one thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry -- it is no sin.
1Cor 7:36 (KJ21) But if any man think that he behaveth himself improperly toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her youth and need so require, let him do what he will -- he sinneth not; let them marry.

1Tim 3:2 Now a bishop must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, temperate, sensible, dignified, hospitable, an apt teacher,
1Tim 3:12 Let deacons be the husband of one wife, and let them manage their children and their households well;

1Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by giving heed to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,
1Tim 4:2 through the pretensions of liars whose consciences are seared,
1Tim 4:3 who forbid marriage and enjoin abstinence from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

Such should and does apply to not merely priests and pastors, but even cardinals and the pope himself, as Jesus might have become, perhaps even applying to Jesus, had His life not been cut short and He would continued on Earth.
